"FEAR AND LOATHING" Movie Poster

This is the second movie poster I created. Dennis asked us to add some sort of autobiographical aspect to one of our posters or to at least try to add a personal spin on it. Anywhoooo.......my roommate Katey and I were messing around with the Apple Photobooth application one day and it reminded me of the FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS book cover. First I used to magic wand tool select and copy only our faces. Then I uploaded a picture I took during a family road trip and used the liquify tool to blur the scenery around our heads. It looked stupid because our heads were basically hovering in the desert so I added a car at the bottom of the image. Then I added the crazy Fear and Loathing looking text and choose yellow. I had yellow for the "what a trip" text on the hood but it didn't pop as much as I wanted it to. Last thing I did was change the Font color to an orangish-red and vuuaaalllaaa. Still laughing about it all.

First Movie Poster

This is my first attempt at a movie poster. I used a picture I took in Mazatlan and added more birds to it. I didn't want to put text on the image so I messed with the canvas size and filled the blank space with black. I used red text because it popped more than other colors, plus its the color of EVIL (dun dun dun). Anyways.....yup.....there it is.

Collage

The collage was the first time I had ever attempted to use the layering tool in photoshop and it shows. Very cool tool though, now it's like my new best friend (not true but whatever). I used tons and tons of layers and utilized to opacity tool. I dont really know where the idea came from or why it is such a weird visual. HMMMMMMM........?
